"Not only in Hungary but also abroad, events have taken place for the "queen of sports," Gabriella Sztojalovszky’s student, Dávid Gabriel Kelen, competing as a dual citizen, participated in the French Winter Throwing Championship, where he finished in fifth place in his age category. Our young thrower achieved an excellent ranking, though he was not entirely satisfied with his result. However, the conditions were far from ideal for achieving his best, as the athletes had to compete in continuous heavy rain, causing them to slip frequently. Dávid and his team continue their preparations enthusiastically, as he will also compete in the same event at the end of March, this time representing Hungary."
"The athletic talents of the city of Maisons-Laffitte shone during the recent French Championships for Long Throws (February 23 to 25, Salon-de-Provence). In the U18 category of the hammer throw, Dávid Kelen, a young promising athlete from the Union Athlétique de Maisons-Laffitte (UAML), won the title of French champion. His main coach, Adrien Bettolo, also won the title of French champion in the Seniors category.
Dávid began his athletic career in 2020 at UAML. The following year, he joined the "Athlé 2028" program of the French Athletics Federation, aimed at identifying the best young athletes at the national level. "David's rapid progress demonstrates that, although traditionally considered a difficult and highly technical discipline, hammer throw can lead to very good results at the national level, provided there is serious commitment and quality coaching," says Imad Benaïcha Redouane, Technical Director of Youth Categories at the club. Congratulations to Dávid Kelen, his coach, and the entire club of Maisons-Laffitte for these exceptional results!"
